[A man gets into a cab at the airport] A man gets into a cab at the airport. He takes off his hat as he does. He sits stiffly. The ride isn't long. He steps out of the cab and pays the driver curtly and waves him on. he walks up to the house. The door is cheery. He slowly knocks. A thin woman answers the door. She looks him up and down. "Ma'am", he says. A flicker of recognition hits her face, followed closely by anguish. "No!" she yells. Heavy, fast footsteps from the stairs inside, and a man appears by her side. "Oh, no!" The same recognition. "Sir", the man says, kind, but formal, still standing stiffly at the door. "May I come in?"
