I am thinking of places I have never been, but places that have shaped who I am and what I think about the world. The thing I notice most about travelers is how much they can take the place they've just been for what it is. Sure, they compare there to here, since that's the social currency of conversation with people from somewhere else -- but the real travelers are seeing the place they're in with fresh eyes, not caught up in how they think it should be, and not always assuming it will be like home. Eventually you learn to read into the stories and images and get a sense of the why of a place and people. -> What they talk about, sing and care about
