[you open your door and find a 12x12 box with your name on it and the words "today is the day"] "Sama! Today is the day!" "I know!" They were up early today, breakfast was being served in the common room, curried eggs and rice, and tea and toast. Sama poured herself a cup of tea, and spread marmite on toast. "I think I could get used to living here." "I don't know how you eat that stuff. It smells spoiled!" "I like it!" They hurried their breakfast and went back to their room to pack. The woman from the desk knocked on their door, knocking it open since they didn't latch it. "Your uncle is here." They hurriedly stuffed the last of their things into their bags, and Sama took a wool shawl and wrapped it around herself. "It is so cold!" The woman laughed from the doorway. "Just wait for winter. It's not even chilly yet." They stepped out onto the pavement, and their uncle stood, leaning against the door of the black car. "You two made it, I see. It is good to see you both." "Thank you!" Their uncle helped the driver load their things into the car, and settled into the front seat, leaving the girls alone behind the glass divider. "He looks just like our father!" "He is his brother..." Sama laughed a little. They did look similar, she thought. "I keep expecting him to be like him, and he's not!" "I know!" The glass divider rolled down and their uncle turned backward over the seat to talk. "There are rooms for each of you when we get there. We'll take the train this morning, and we'll be there in time for you to freshen up for tea." They arrived the train station directly, and their uncle paid the driver curtly. He checked his watch, and said "Follow me." The girls took their luggage and hurried to keep up with him. The platform was crowded, a vendor was selling sandwiches, and a police officer was checking IDs at the end before the trains. The station was cavernous, with more than a dozen platforms sticking out of the central walkway, and signs everywhere, and a loudspeaker curtly calling out the names of towns and times.
